Harrods, one of the world’s most iconic department stores, was founded in 1834 by Charles Henry Harrod as a small grocery shop in London’s East End. In 1849, it relocated to Knightsbridge, where it gradually expanded into a luxurious emporium known for high-end goods and impeccable service. The store was rebuilt in its current grand form after a fire in 1883, becoming a symbol of opulence with its elaborate façade and lavish interiors. Over the years, Harrods has changed ownership several times, notably being acquired by Mohamed Al-Fayed in 1985 and later sold to Qatar Holdings in 2010. Today, it remains a global retail landmark, famous for its motto “Omnia Omnibus Ubique” – “All things for all people, everywhere.”
